Leeds and Manchester offer a distance MS in bioinformatics:

    Leeds and Manchester

And the University of London offers a distance MS in structural biology:

    University of London

    Are there any others?

Hi Chris - If I might offer a small suggestion, the two links that you posted point to degrees in Bioinformatics and Structural Biology. Are these the same thing? With such divergence in nomenclature it will be difficult for most people to know what it is that you are seeking. Please say it in plain English, then you might get some help.

The University of Florida has a program in bioinformatics offered by DL.

Bioinformatics is an area that covers both applications, such as biological database design and pattern recognition, as well as structural issues, such as protein structure prediction.

Different universities can refer to these areas as bioinformatics, biophysics, computational biology, structural biology, and systems biology.

I just read a recent (April 2005) master's thesis last night in the field, as chance would have it. It wasn't by DL, since it's from UBC, but it was fascinating reading nonetheless, and ended up cited.

The whole field is fascinating, from a linguistic point of view.

Galizur (btw -- does that mean flower garden?) -- is your interest primarily the formal language of it, or the biology of it? RNA/DNA secondary structure prediction is a very hot field right now, with tons of publication opportunities. A formal linguistic model of these secondary structures is big business in terms of grants, et cetera. My thesis gets into the area, covering grammars for pseudoknots and concensus secondary structures.

    Fascinating stuff.
