I have noticed that many of the veteran posters here refer the newbies to many of the same web sites over and over again to help them answer questions they may have about distance learning. I have built a new web site which contains many of these links, so people can find them all in one place. The web site contains links to information that will help answer questions about accreditation, diploma mills and how to find a distance learning program. Let me know if you think there are other links that should be included. I'm trying to build the "Drudge Report" of distance learning, or at least that's the goal. Good beginning... but I always hate to see people use Tripod or Geocities or any of the free hosting places that take so long to load because of all the pop-up advertising and javascript that plants spyware-like things on one's hard drive; and result in web pages that are framed, top and bottom, by even more ads. If you'd like some free, ad-free, pop-up-free, javascript-free, spyware-free, quick-loading web space for your new page, I can give you a very small, basic hosting account -- free -- that you can just do with what you want as long as it's a non-profit sort of thing for you and is only to help distance learning information seekers. Thanks for the offer, DesElms, but I do plan to upgrade my account to have the Tripod ads removed. I'm also going to get my own domain name for the web site. The Tripod ads don't seem to affect my computer much, but maybe that's because I have a pop-up blocker. Anyway, if you have any suggestions for other links that should be on the site, let me know. I think it would be helpful to refer new people to one site, rather than the dozen or so sites I always see referenced here. Also, if anyone else here has a site of their own they would like to ad to the list, let me know. Thanks!
