As I am certain that others have noticed, postings about MBA programs are a major portion of the board. Perhaps it would be sensible to create a MBA-only forum, similiar in concept to the IT degrees and MIGS forums.

This would provide a more centralized location of particular use to new users.

    My $ 0.02 USD.

It sounds like a good idea to me. I'll let the other admins know about it.

By the way, folks, this is a good example of a post that probably should have been sent to [email protected] as well. We are fast approaching a time when it is going to be very difficult to read all of the posts on the entire board. If it is sent to that address, it definitely is read that same day.

Although if it is posted here, everyone can discuss it.

I don't especially like the suggestion to create an MBA forum. Here's why:

    1. It might reduce discussion of MBAs. Posts generate more posts. Look at what happened to IT discussion after a separate forum was started. People who want to talk about IT think they can't discuss it here, but only a few people post there. So people interested in IT apparently pass.

(Certainly something accounts for the far lower interest than we used to see on AED. If it isn't the format, is it the dot.com meltdown?)

    2. Discussion of MBAs is inextricably tied to other issues. We use MBA programs as examples when talking about accreditation, about foreign degrees, about degree prestige and all the rest of our obsessions.

Which is why I, of course, said "as well". <grin>

I think this newsgroup is an obsession. [IMG]
