I must thank all the wonderful people who supplied comments and advice when I first posted in reference to CTU online. I must admit that the effort to disseminate a quality alternative out of the myriad of spurious options was indeed quite daunting. Not to paint CTU in a bad light, they were just my starting point and I am sure provide a valid alternative. I learned quite a lot about the process and discovered some excellent resources that ultimately enhanced my research and precipitated my decision. I would like to share some of these resources with prospective MBA students. Here are a few that offer a great over view of the whole online issue…

    1) A google search of “Legitimate online degrees” offered up an article entitled “The Basics: Is an online degree worth anything? “under MSM Money. This is a very good starting point, and lists many useful sites. Here are some others…

Some of the best advice came from readers of this message board. Many of you point out the need to balance personal goals and resources as well as the type of degree sought to determine the best route. Cost is a big factor and one would expect that the online option would be much cheaper but in most cases is not. Obviously there is a lot of money to be made out there and some of the offerings are really quite unbelievable. But do the due diligence and you will find the right choice for your needs and budget. I opted for an online program offered by an established State school. I can rely on the reputation as well as in state tuition. For me this was the right choice. Thank you Squirrel for the tip about ECU in North Carolina!

You're welcome. You would surprised at what you can find out there. More and more well-established B&M schools are offering DL courses or degrees these days. And the ones that are state-funded usually have reasonable tuition. Although I did my MBA at night school at UNC - Charlotte, I've gotten more interested in DL because of my wife's courses she took to upgrade her math teaching credential. The DL format was perfect for her schedule. I hope the same is true for you. Best of luck in your quest!
