    Hi everyone,
I am planning to enroll in Excelsior for BS in Liberal Arts.
I had already got the evaluation of my hugh school done by ECE a few months ago. What i had requested was a general report but when i contacted Excelsior they said they need a Subject Analysis.
Today i called ECE and they said they will do a subject analysis report on college level subjects.I have only a high school 10+2 and wish to enroll in undergrad program. This means i know i have no credits that need to be evaluated by them.
I again called Excelsior and they now say that if you have high school and wish to enroll with no credits then you do not even need a General Evaluation.
Does this means they accept students even without high school?
I said i had already sent them copies through ECE of the General Evaluation and they said it's ok as they do not need that for high school.
I want to know what i need to do now?
Has anyone been in a similar situation or have any knowledge about all this.
Your help will be very much appreciated Thanks,
    Adoncia

    Hi Adoncia,

I am not sure I can offer you much help - it sounds as though you may have spoken to someone at Excelsior who didn't realize your situation as a new college student and gave you the standard answer for "transfer students" - because you did say the next person told you differently. But I will give you the same suggestion I did the other day: enroll in a community college for a science with lab, before you do much of anything else. Why?

    Because:

    A. You will spend a tiny fraction of the money for a class at any local community college (state-supported), compared to Excelsior. I couldn't even begin to pay their enrollment fees myself, which is why I'm so keen on the local school idea!

    B. You will gain actual laboratory experience, which I think is going to be a requirement of most programs you'll want to take later on. Once you have the basic "general education" of natural science WITH LAB under your belt, you can sign up for online courses. So you will keep your options open by doing this.

    C. As I told you, based on my story, those credits will be with you for life. They will not be questioned anywhere you go.
I have also noticed that many online schools require a certain number of traditional classroom credits, so you can shop around for more schools after you have those credits.

Well, I noticed you mention you were going to check out the community college idea already, so best of luck with your studies!
