While browsing the internet, I discovered that UoP has a DBA.

UoP has offered the DBA for several years.

You have to admit that UoP, in spite of their aggressive marketing practices, are really lousy at announcing their new programs.

For instance, their M.S. in Adminstration of Justice and Security has never been widely advertised, as far as I know, and I like to think I'm on top of such things. The only reason I knew about that particular program was a member here sent me a PM to let me know.

Agreed. They have a bachelor's degree in security management, a cutting-edge subject since 9/11, but who knows about it?

I think one reason is just the number of programs they offer--it's huge. Also, which programs are offered can vary widely among the 130-or-so campuses, plus UoP Online.

In the past, I attempted to look at the various doctoral degrees that UoP offers, but never found their DBA. Whenever I did a doctoral search of UoP, I was always directed to their DM.

What I noticed about the UoP DBA program are their entry-level requirements which essentially ensures that the candidate is already a success in life, which in the long term should bring credit to UoP if they should graduate with a DBA degree.

This assumes (perhaps correctly) that UoP will enforce its published admission standards. Beyond the ones required by its regional accreditor, I assume the rest is negotiable.

We had several hundred doctoral program books to give out at the NVA campus, but the campus does not offer doctoral programs...go figure. UOP wastes millions of dollars on marketing material that is never used, or not used properly so this is not the slightest bit surprising.

Bruce is right about the Master's in Administration of Justice, the only reason I knew about it (and I used to work there) is I was browsing through the curriculum guide on the student website and noticed it had been added to behavioral/social science programs, lumped in with the human services and counseling degrees..

The same goes for the Bachelor of Science in Organizational Security and Management (which Rich mentiones above). The degree would have been HUGE in the NVA area, but they did not market it properly, or even train the admissions staff on how to explain the program, once again, no surprise.

I started up teaching at UoPhx again. I was surprised to see they offer a MM (Masters in Management- presumably to go along with their DM). I hadn't heard of that one, even in the spam and pop-ups that seem to be so prevalent.

An MM degree? It's almost like schools are trying to make up as many differant masters and doctorate programs as possible.
