It's regionally accredited, online MBA and the one of the cheapest MBA in USA.

What is it that it can't offer that you can find in other DL MBAs like HW etc? I would like to hear the first-hand experience rather than hearsay.

There is nothing wrong with Amberton DL MBA. It may not be AACSB accredited but so are many other MBAs. There is one poster here who dislikes almost all U.S. DL programs. His views are mostly based on hearsay.

An interesting question actually. I don't think there is anything "wrong" with Amberton but that being said one can pose the question "what is it that the best schools offer that you can't find in the worst schools" (I am speaking purely of DL programs).
First, in a sense they offer nothing. Generally you will study the same material, perhaps from the same authors or texts, regardless of the program. Either program will provide an opportunity for you to learn and grow, depending upon the effort you put into the program.
Second, in another sense they offer much more. The depth, breadth and rigor the best schools require are greater than the bottom. The bottom provide an opportunity, the top demand performance. The demanding nature of the programs can also build capability and confidence. They also offer a reputation. I have been in meetings with MBA types from Georgetown, WashU and LSE. When I say I am finishing HW and the LSE guy comments that he hears that it is a decent program (and I gain immediate credibility with the Georgetown/Wash folk) what price do you put on that?

I believe one of the main differences between "top tier" and "lower tier" schools is the strength of their alumni association. When graduates of many of the higher ranked MBA programs get into positions of hiring authority, they tend to hire fellow alums. I've worked in a couple companies where exec management tended to be from Hah-Vahd or Stan-frd. It was no surprise that many of the other layers of manglement were from the same schools, as were many of the 'fast track' folks.

At one of these schools I was told by a Stan-frd MBA that I had a "working man's MBA." My answer was, "as opposed to a non-working MBA?"

I have no personal experience with it, so my post will inevitably reflect hearsay. But I have not heard about anything wrong with Amberton. It seems to be one of the most cost-effective MBA programs in existence. The only knock on it that I know of is that Amberton is a small and little known college.
