I was just wanting to ask, has anyone here ever recieved a sholarship for their degree program while completing through DL?I have never recieved a scholarship through my whole academic career. How about your experience/situation?
NCU is offering a scholarship to full-time law enforcement officers and firemen; and they offer undergraduate and graduate degrees. The graduate degrees are discounted about 40% off (with the scholarship) and the undergraduate degrees aren't discounted quite as much. Forty percent -- that's almost half-off -- and I've never seen another school do anything even remotely similar for cops.
I've been able to garner a couple by looking in professional circles. My degree program is the BIS curriculum at Bellevue, 100% DL. Career wise, I'm military project manager. Over and above tuition assistance, the base Top Three association (Senior NCOs) threw one at me based on community support and GPA, and the local Project Management International chapter awarded me one for this academic year based on GPA and career potential. In neither case was the fact that I was a DL student held against me; they looked strictly at the degree program and my essays/applications. Hope ths helps. Good luck!
