Am I the only one who completed their requisite 120 units, had the degree audit tell you that you were finished, and didn't quite believe it? I feel like it's not real until I have the proof of completion in my hand. (Though, TESC tells me the registrar should have that done in a matter of days.) It feels surreal. Anyway, thanks John Bear et al. I couldn't have done it without the resources available here. Sincerely, Laura B.A. Social Sciences (Or so they tell me.)

    Congratulations, Laura!

I agree if not for this forum and all the great information and advice I doubt I would have considered completing my bachelor degree in early 2006.

Earning 120 credit hours is no small feat. Celebrate the achievement once you receive official notification.

    Way to go !!
You're not the only one. I thought it was my 40+ years in the banking and insurance business that made me want to see it in writing.

Well, Elaine over at TESC is working to expedite the process so she can send a proof of eligibility for graduation to one of the local school districts. I've completed the CBEST and I've got an appointment tomorrow for the substitute teacher orientation. In the meantime I'm studying to pass the CSET in English, and plan to get my teaching credential. Unless, of course I decide after subbing for awhile that I'd rather chew my own arm off than spend 6-7 hours a day in a class full of teenagers...

Laura, it's been a while, but I remember the relief I felt when I got my final transcript and diploma. It was real then.

Of course, I also remember the relief I felt when my sweet husband actually showed up at our wedding. Well, there is a long story there, but it begins with me walking the aisle 10 weeks after we met (25 years ago :D )

10 weeks...why did you wait so long
I got married after knowing my wife for 8 weeks. We will celebrate our 15th anniversary on Halloween!

    Hey Randall,

Us short-term daters must like holidays for weddings -- we got married on new years eve!

Happy anniversary (a few days early)!

Hooray for you, Laura. I'm pleased that my book was an enzyme in this process, where 100% of the credit is yours.

John Bear, who got married to Marina seventeen days after she moved to San Francisco to work on the new childrens magazine my colleagues and I were developing. That was just over 42 years ago, but the only hoidays of note are Pakistani independence day and National Code Talkers Day -- and, of course Cosimo de Medici's and Halle Berry's birthday
