I recently received a catalog from MDS/MGSD, which included the following, which is posted here for information purposes:

    1. $250 Scholarship.
    2. Sample copy of the MDS/MGSD diploma stating "Your Name Should Be Here."
    3. According to their accreditation statement MDS doesn't seek accreditation from an outside organization. MDS programs are designed "without the rigorous academic criteria imposed by an accredited college."
(cited from MDS 2001-2002 Bulletin, page 4)
    4. The catalog contains nine (9) pictures of the MDS/MGSD diploma, MDS class rings and cap/gown items.
    5. Many of the course instructors are also listed as faculty at Trinity (Newburgh, IN).
    6. Tuition: Associate's Degree=$2150; Bachelor's Degree=$2240; Master's Degree=$2300; Doctorate=$2400.
    7. One may obtain a Doctor of Christian Administration, Doctor of Practical Ministry or Doctor of Practical Theology degree.
    8. The doctorates require the completion of six courses via audio cassette.

I am trying to think of what terms our Knight of the road (Levicoff) might use to describe such an academic opportunity.

What a nice story it would make in Great Britain. Univ. of Liverpool accredits school whose organization offers Doctoral "diplomas" via six tapes and includes a handy dandy ring to impress ones friends and co workers. None of those pesky tests and brain numbing academic exercises.
I can't help but feel this reflects negatively on Trinity Bible College and Seminary.

Uhhh...I think I am going to be ill.....excuse me.

When MDS first opened its "doors," the nomenclature used was that of "diploma." However, the term "degree" is now being used.
