I came here looking for negative comments before sending Cooks alot of money. I didn't find any, and only one from Mar of 97 on the usenet. That one from Mar97 points out they don't have regional accreditation or IEEE ABET. From my reading of their website that is still true just NAPNSC, is that worth anything? Could I get feedback from Cooks graduates or anyone who works with one? I don't need the prestige for job hunting, but I do want to be able to design good amateur radio kits. Seems like the various EET programs won't take me there.

Cook's is certainly not a degree mill, but they lack any form of recognized accreditation; a Cook's degree would almost certainly be unacceptable as a basic credential for folks applying to a regionally accredited graduate program, and acceptance by employers is lightly to be much less common than acceptance for a comparable regionally accredited degree.

NAPNSC is a legitimate, but unrecognized, accrediting body.

If you're looking to earn a degree for hobby purposes (such as HAM radio), then Cook's is probably perfect. If you're looking to expand your professional or academic horizons, I think you'd be better off looking elsewhere.

    Good luck!

This should read "likely," not "lightly."
