    Hi everyone,
I'm currently enrolled in AS in Psychology at Ashworth College and I'm about to take my first proctor exam. I sent my proctor nomination form to Ashworth with a choice of one nomination(a librarian). I'm wondering if anyone knows how Ashworth evaluates my chosen proctor and whether this person is eligible to proctor all my examinations.
    Thank you for your help.

The following information is quoted directly from the web site of Ashworth College.

    Procedures

When students approach the completion of their studies in a semester-which occurs when students receive their fifth course in a semester-they should begin the proctor selection process by sending a completed Proctor Nomination Form to the College (click here to download form). On this form, the student must submit the names of three qualified persons willing to serve as a proctor who reside in the student's general geographic area. However, students may choose to submit the name of only one proctor candidate if that person is a high school or college administrator, faculty member, guidance counselor, librarian, or member of the clergy. A student in the military may use a test-control officer. Acceptable proctor candidates must be responsible individuals for whom no conflict of interest exists: for instance, please note that a fellow student, a relative (by blood or marriage), or an immediate supervisor are not suitable proctor candidates under any circumstances. As the student, you are solely responsible for locating suitable proctor candidates. Proctors should be willing to provide this service free of charge, otherwise it will be the student's responsibility to compensate the proctor. Proctor nominations must be received no later than 30 days after completing the fifth course in a semester.

Once the Registrar has selected a suitable proctor candidate from your nominations, the College will send your examination to your proctor, and you will take it at a prearranged time and place. The proctor will then attest to the conditions under which the examination was administered, place the completed examination package along with a signed Proctored Examination Form in a sealed envelope, sign the sealed flap, and return the envelope immediately to ASHWORTH COLLEGE for evaluation. You will be notified promptly of the results of your examination, which must be a C or higher to remain in Academic Good Standing. Remember, in the event of a failing grade (a score of less than 70%), students are entitled to one opportunity to retake the subject(s) failed. Please note: you must pass all four proctored semester examinations in order to be eligible for graduation. Finally, students who choose to do so may take their proctored examinations at the ASHWORTH COLLEGE site in Atlanta.

As a librarian I proctor about one exam a fortnight. I have proctored examinations from U Deleware, BYU, U Florida and most probably a few other schools I cannot recall. I also have proctored some insurance license CEU program examination.

The schools usually confirm our identity, either by calling or faxing and they often follow up with a letter outlining their requirement and asking that we return a signed copy noting our acceptance.

I think most libraries offer this service, if not you are welcome to come to mine :p
