Next month, I qualify for resident tuition here in Texas, so I'm stepping up my seemingly neverending search for the "perfect" school for my online MBA.

I was discussing my options with a senior leader in my organization (non-profit healthcare) who I work with a lot, and who's opinion I value on most things.

I was surpirsed how strongly she tried to steer me away from a online course from a college with no name recognition, instead suggesting that I look for a college in Texas which has name recognition.

There certainly are many to choose from here in Texas -
U of Houston Victoria; U of Texas System Telecampus; A&M Commerce etc.

I know this community will have a different view of online learning, and I'd value your opinions on name recognition.

Also, if anyone here is or has gone through a search of Grad schools in Texas - please let me know how you decided and what you think of your current (or former) school. I remember at least one other poster who was looking for a Texas Grad School about 6-8 months ago, but I can't find his threads from the search function.

    Thanks!

I know I have been told(I have not verified this in any manner!) that the Texas telecampus degrees are different than the B&M ones. I personally would avoid that if possible. There are a few posters that attend or graduated from TAMU-Commerce, everything I have seen on it makes it look like it is a very good option option(AACSB) and 30 credit MBA. It was on my short list of four college before I took the plunge. I know very little about the University of Houston.

I am currently enrolled at TAMU-Commerce and like the courses and the professors have been really helpful. It is AACSB and rigor levels are comparable to top schools.

Wouldn't you compare usnews and business week rankings overall and by major, and just work your way down the list until you find a distance program? If you're close enough, some schools have weekend and other deliver programs for more traditional programs.
