I have been posting here several times trying to figure out what to do and how to do it. With the guidance from these boards I have finally made a decision. I am now enrolled in the Sociology program at LSU with a concentration in Criminology. This program is completely brick and mortar but it comes with a twist. I am also enrolled in several Distance Ed courses also at LSU to get some of my prerequisites out of the way. My employer had graciously allowed me to go to work full time and I can go to school full time. They are willing to work around my schedule 100% for school. I was able to do this because it stays within my field and it benefits work as well as it does me. So in a sense I will be doing B&M as well as some online courses. I want to thank everyone here for their input and will let everyone know how I am doing. I must say I met with my counselor today and at 30 years old I felt like an artifact at school...lol...anyways wanted to let you guys know that I appreciated all the help and I will be starting my online courses in about a week and I start traditional in January. I will definately need your encouragement as working full time/School full time will be hard. :D :D :D

Congratulations on embarking on a great adventure. You work for a fantastic employer by the sounds of it. Good luck and keep us posted on your progress.

Remember throughout history it has been the "artifacts" that have taught those whom came afterwords about their world and their heritage.

You guys are the real reason I was able to get up enough cojones (pardon my profanity) to ask my employer to allow me to do it. Plus all the guidance I have gotten in general and great advice from here. I won't lie...I am scared especially from my experience today feeling old there but I know it will be alright. I might even have to school some of the younguns because all of my Criminal Justice courses will be in a field I've been in professionally for 10 years...:D

Congratulations, soupbone! And remember: traditional age students look up to the older students and admire them for their perseverence and their life wisdom. And I am assured that professors just love their non-traditional students. Good luck!

Congratulations!!! It's always nice when one of us old dinosaurs remind the younger species that once we used to rule the earth.
