Hi All I have a Bachelors of Science in Sociology/Criminology. I also have a one year diploma in Computer Technology from ECPI and about 8 years experience in Technical/Customer Support. I'm looking to expand into the IT field with a Bachelors Degree in IT or related field and was looking for good suggestions for schools that make it easier to get a second bachelors degree. Any info will be appreciated.

There are a number of certifications that can be uased as half the credit needed for an IT Master's from Australia's Charles Sturt University, or there are innumerable U.S. based options both in IT and in Technology Management, e.g. University of Maryland. -=Steve=-
I would be open to a Master's degree, but it seems like a lot of them have many prerequisits if you dont have an IS degree. Are there any they don't have many requirements?
Touro University International (www.tourou.edu) has a Master of Science in Information Technology Management (http://www.tourou.edu/cis/msitm.htm). If you have an IS/IT degree the programme can be completed in 18 months. Otherwise, you might need a few more months but the web site does not stipulate you must take prerequisite IS/IT courses. My advice, all 2 cents worth, is to contact Touro and ask.
NCU has an MBA with a Management Information Systems Specialization. Graduation Requirements: The MBA degree with a specialization in Management Information Systems is a 36-semester unit program that emphasizes the traditional business administration and management studies at the graduate level. Learners who complete at least 18 graduate semester units in the area of Management Information Systems may have the specialization recorded on their transcript and diploma. As a follow-up to the post by Pilot, For the Master's degrees in Business, Psychology, and Education, you can apply for admission if you have a bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited or approved institution. The equivalent to a bachelor's degree is 120 semester credits of college level coursework from an accredited or approved institution. No GMAT, GRE or other entrance exams required. You appear to the met the admissions requirement as far a education is concerned. Good luck in your studies!
Umass has a program now to get a information technology degree if you already have a BS degree. It only requires 10 additional classes to get the degree. I have a BS in Business so I thinking about pursing this also since I am employed in IT right now.
sentinel, I have actually being researching on this for the past week. In the area where I relocated to last summer TX. There is nothing here all the programs are day hours for radiology. Which would require me to have a night IT job. And the job market is really bad over in the area. I did start to research other college radiology programs across the US, to see what I could find since the position I work is mostly during the day hours & will highly likely be even when I relocate again. I happened to come accross 5 two year colleges in the US that offer the whole degree as a evening program for radiology. I am still researching to see if I can find anymore like these radiology programs out there because I was a bit suprised to see these offered. Most Rad programs that I have seen are all day hours and I was starting to think I was not going to be able to pursue this degree further because of the conflict. So if I can get accepted to one of these programs that offered during the evening hours after I complete my preq, I will be definitely relocate to another state complete this degree. So next year, I have to start knocking out the rest of my RAD preq. requirements while I am completing another degree.
You are ambitious! Yeah, the IT market is driving a lot of the experienced people into other fields it seems. After over a decade as a consultant I have decided to upgrade my education from a diploma in Computer Programming & Systems Analysis and consolidate all the credit hours, scattered throughout many a university/college over the years. My eventual goal is a teaching position at a college or public school. Alternatively, I might end up watching a flock of sheep with my dogs - at least it is a dream. ;-) I wish you the best of luck in your educational pursuits and career transition.
Check out Bellevue University. They have two I.T. Masters degrees that don't have a bunch of prereq's. I am almost done with my B.S. and have nothing but high regard for the school.

sentinel, Good Luck to you also in your teaching career. Yeah, IT is changing so rapidly, I will not be leaving the field that I am in because I love the IT position and area that I am currently in which is Unix, Linux, and working with database, but hey I am only in my late 20's so who's to say I will like it this same type of work still when I am 40 something. I probaly would want something more secure in terms of employment. In reality some people are harsh when it comes to age and working in IT which I think is really horrible because older workers in my opinion bring alot to the table in terms of employment but some other folks in IT seems to think otherwise. Anyhow, I think it is good for me to pickup a side career now, so that I will not have to startover again when I am older down the road because it may be harder to do. When I get finish my AS degree in Radiology, I will be doing this part time on the side with IT. Also have you thought about teaching online, I was also doing research on that on the net. I think in the future we will see alot more teaching online for students. I see class being offered online is now at the high school level not just only offered to college students. You could teach to high school students online too.
