Hey all: Wonderful forum and infor. I was wondering. Other than the usual suspects of NCU, Capella, Walden are there other Psyc. Masters programs that offer little or no residency requirements. Take care all:)

Argosy Seattle has a masters and doctorate in psychology. Some of Argosy's psych programs are already APA accredited, others are in process, I believe.

I'm not certain why Argosy is ever mentioned regarding distance learning. They have no distance degree programs that I know of. They do have 50% of their programs offered in an online format, but they just plain aren't a distance oriented school. Would you agree?
It's disappointing. They are a good school and I have considered them in the past (APA and all) but I don't live in a town with a campus.

It's true that Argosy is more of a classroom-based program. But with its week-end format, week-long intensive format, and blended format, the program is attractive to students desiring a low-residency program, which is what the initial poster was inquiring. Also since the initial poster is located in Seattle (my assumption), I brought up the Seattle campus.

Although Argosy is not considered a distance-learning program, many students travel a great distance to attend the week-end and week-long programs. My wife is attending the Argosy San Francisco DBA program tells me of students attending from the east coast. When I was attending the Orange County CA campus, we had students from Arizona, northern CA, and other surrounding states.

One of the Argosy benefits is that you can take courses from any of the campuses across the country.

I am in love with the Saybrook Institute, http://www.saybrook.edu/, because they are RA, famed for being a center of humanistic psychology, and the Dean answered my tedious e-mails quickly and thoroughly. New students need to go to San Fran for a 5 day orientation, and then spend one week each June and each January at a residential conference. Expensive but worth it, especially if you are of the humanistic school. I am usually one to moan about a residential requirement, but 2 weeks a year is not outside the typical vacation/PTO possibilities, and if a master's in psych will help your company you might be able to negotiate with the boss.
