    Hello,

I read a recent article in the Wall Street Journal talking about for profit schools and their credibility for transferring credits. I'm still shopping around for a school for my MBA. Can someone tell me if University of Maryland Unversity College (UMUC) is a for profit or non profit school? They are really expensive for a non AACSB school. The article didn't talk about "professional" acreditation, just R/A versus other accreditation. I love distance learning and but I just want to make sure my education is worth something at the end. Maryland, although very expensive, seems like a logical choice for me because of their program structure. I did just found out that I'm moving to Pensecola and it is the home to the University of West Florida. No distance learning, but an accelerated AACSB MBA and it's cheaper! ($15,000 to be exact) What do ya'll think? UMUC or UWF?

TO be honest I just took your poll, before even reading your post. I knew very little and still know very little about UWF. They definately got my vote compared to the others you listed and that was before I realized they had achieved AACSB. If you do want to go the DL route there are plenty of other programs out there! and some are AACSB. I highly recommend Johnny's list(Jack has already posted the link). Yet from my quick view of UWF they don't look like a bad school, you just have to attend the old fashioned way.

I know Jack just posted it but I will again any way for redundancy.

Bellevue! All new students get a convertible car, laptop and weird blue halo. :)

Seriously, despite the cheesy photo I can recommend it... I'm currently taking a course on IT Project Management there, and it's pretty good considering the low price.

UMUC is a state school, part of the University System of Maryland.
