Ok, I have not heard anything abou this college on this site, did a forum search and Google search of this site and found little to nothing even mentioned, just in passing about the name or something.

Does anyone have any experiences with this school? Do they have good online class software that would make taking classes at this school even more convenient?

I am looking at the telecommunications Technology online degree from them, I do not understand what their accredation means and how it is looked at. But it is not really that important to me at all anyways.

sooooo what kind of accredation do they have? Is it national or regional?

    Thanks guys!

As I have mentioned here many times, please -- as a courtesy to those from whom you seek advice (so you're not asking them to do the work of going out and hunting-down/figuring-out which program you're talking about; and as a way of ensuring that everyone's talking about the same program -- always provide a link, in posts like yours, to the program in question.

That said, if you're talking about Mt. Sierra in Monrovia, California, it's accredited by Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT), which is approved/recognized by both the US. Department of Education (USDE) and its Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).

So that makes its accreditation national.

I attended Mt. Sierra College for business admin 2003-2004. I was so disappointed. When I asked them if they were accredited they said yes. Unfortunately I was not informed enough at the time to ask for REGIONAL accreditation. Fast forward a year and thousands of dollars later guess what happened when I tried to transfer those credits to TESC?

Another source of disappointment was their tuition. They are on the quarter system which means you end up paying for way more credits. However, the cost was expensive. OK that is not what I am whining about because I obviously knew the price before I enrolled. However, they increased the tuition the second quarter I enrolled. Then during the third quarter, they added a technology of about say $100+ PER CLASS. I have never heard of a school jacking their prices up so steeply in one school year.

On top of all of that, they did not want to accept a lot of my basic gen. ed. classes from established brick and mortar universities. They did not make their curriculum available before hand so I did not realize how many classes they wanted me to take for my degree. For financial aid reasons, I wanted to enroll in a college quickly. I learned my lesson and will never rush through admissions like that again. If you consider this college look into them VERY CAREFULLY.

wow, I am sorry that Mt. Sierra did not work out for you.

So they were rough with trying to accept credits from another school?

I plan on finishing my associates at ITT in computer networking and bachelors at Fountainhead before starting this program. Combined with the certs I will have at that time and 56 hours of transfer credit from Pellessippi state (Regionally accredited)

SOOOO I would hope that this would eliminate any of the security classes and many of the basic Computer networking classes in the degree. Also should have ALL of the gen ed classes completed with transfer.

This is a 3 year accelorated program starting from scratch, so I was hoping all of these credits would at least leave about a year and a half left to complete (so i can get all of the advanced networking classes and all of the telecommunication and wireless networking and telecommunication classes to complete)

Do you think they will give me a tough time accepting Cisco, microsoft, Comtia Certs, NSA IAM IEM security certs, National Accredited ITT credits, National Accredited Fountainhead college, and Regionally accredited Pellessippi credits?
