Okay guys I thought I would start a loose and informal journal to relate my experiences at Southwestern College in Kansas, for good or bad as I go. The way I plan to do it (like I stick to plans) is to tell my enrollment experience, first class experience and then from that point give a quick brief at the beginning and end of each course (a total of 14). Then at the very end I will sum up how everything went and hopefully post a graduate date.

So here is week one of the entrance seminar.

Enrolling was so easy, you could almost accidentally do it. The entrance seminar thus far has been a self evaluation of what type of student you are and what type you would like to be. You also evaluate your strengths and weaknesses. The book "Becoming a Master Student" 11th Ed. is the assigned text, and I happen to be one of those types of people who HATE to write inside of a text book, too bad, because you'll be writing all inside of this thing.

The blackboard is fairly easy to use, but give yourself an hour or two to familiarize yourself with everything.

The support thus far has been awesome. When you call a phone number, you actually speak to a human and not wait in some vague queue to speak with someone you've never heard of. Instead you work with the same advisor for almost everything (so far).

The library and bookstore are both available and easy as well. I ordered my book online (late that night) and received a call the next morning telling me my card had been declined (identity theft protection kicked in) and I told them to try it again which they did no problems. Secondly I ordered an item from them and had to leave a voicemail, I had a call back within 15 minutes.

The library replied to my email the next morning after I sent an email to them late the night before. Again everyone has been very helpful and I haven't felt like an inconvenience to anyone.....................yet.
