Once upon a time, I used to be able to log into the UMI database and navigate to a section where I could look up information (by author, title, mentor, subject, or school number) concerning theses deposited into their data base over the course of the preceeding year. This section of the database also contained the first 20 pages of deposited theses. I can't find it. The last few times I've looked, I get shunted from screen to screen and inveigled to purchase available titles, but the (extremely useful) virtual thesis sampling no longer seems to exist. Is there a Secret Master way to access what I need from this database or has it (and we) become victims of the "We're Changing To Serve You Better!" syndrome? Thanks.
Oh, my. My masculinity is somewhat challenged, as Bill Dayson's thesis looks to be about 55% longer than mine. (And much more readable, to boot.) Thanks for bringing up this resource, folks! Now I can start memorizing my UMI number. Peace, ------------------ Tom Head www.tomhead.net
