If Nationally Accredited Degree is fine for you, you can look at California Coast University, www.calcoast.edu or look at www.detc.org

They do offer one of the lowest fee for DL undergrad in the market. Most importantly, unless Nationally Accredited suits your need, if not..you should look for Regionally accredited degree. Also, pls check with your local government whether NA degree is suitable for public employment. At least my country does accept RA, and NA degree.

You're welcome...Yes, there are DL in Singapore, but most of them are not self-pace, but correspondence learning at our local B&M private institution that have affiliation with the foreign B&M Universities. UOL, NUI, CSU etc...

Particularly for Psychology, you can also take a look at the RA programs at Charter Oak State College or Excelsior College, which you've probably already seen mentioned quite a lot in this forum. Both of these colleges give as significant amount of credit for the GRE Subject Exam in Psychology. In the case of Charter Oak, they grant 18 credits (3 upper level) for at least a 40th percentile mark in the exam, while Excelsior will grant up to 30 credits for a score of at least the 80th percentile (no mean feat, frankly), and less on a sliding scale down to 3 credits. There are quite a number of other psychology exams available to fill out the major, and of course if one wants to one can test out of virtually every needed credit in either of these programs; more information on the excellent BA in 4 Weeks site. I do know, though, that at Charter Oak, at least, the psych program requires at least one non-testing course credit in Cognitive Psychology.

It's worth noting as well that the third of the "big three" American assessment colleges, Thomas Edison State College, does not give credit for the GRE subject exams, though they have a lot of good points, too; that's where I did my AA.

    Peace,

    Matt

    Thanks Matt.

what I ideally would like is a program that offers: corresponding learning, not self pace and would like to take around 2 subjects for term/semester.

To throw in my two cents I feel you should do the exact oposite. Go RA first then if you decide on graduate school go NA. Furthermore, look for an AACSB business school whenever posible.

Anyway, you can start by looking at the Big 3 (TESC, COSC, Excelsior) as they are inexpensive and RA.

    Best of luck,

Just curious, Miguel. Did you get your University of Dayton degree by DL? If so, what did you think of the program, and how was the cost? I only ask because I am also looking for a BS in Marketing.

Nope. UD is unfortunatelly a resident school. Back in 1986 to 1990 the School was about $9,000.00 per year. Fortunatelly, I was on a full scholarship. Now the program is about $25,000.00 a year. The school is ranked 98 nationaly by US News. The business and engineering schools are really good. I would stay away from the other faculties as they are not as well regarded and I think that if you are going to spend 100k you beter get your money's worth. I feel that the marketing program was really good and learned a lot. Anyway, without my scholarship I probably would not have been able to go there.

Be that as it may there are quite a few RA/AACSB business schools out there were you can get your degree for less money by DL.

    I hope this helps.

I would say check out the school
    that I am enrolled at,Western
    Governors University.

They may not be the greatest,
but it's a get it done at your pace
school and is both RA and NA.
And less than $3,000 for a 6 month
    term.

    WESTERN Governors University!!!

Is there any reason why you are not using a NZ university or even the NZ Open Polytechnic?

If you are doing accounting it would be a waste of time getting a US undergraduate degree as it would not get you professional membership/recognition in NZ. Similar comments re Psychology.

You should also realise that what you do in the final 2 years of secondary school in NZ will have to be repeated again for a US first degree. NZ first degrees more equal the coursework of a US masters - that is, no general education content but core modules and core related electives.

    Hi PJ French,

Yes i do agree with you!!!!

The only institutions that offers distance studies in NZ are: Massey University & Open Polytechnic.

I dont like either of them, as i had bad Experiences with them. so that's why i am looking beyond NZ.

I have few Aussie Institutes in mind, like: Institute of Australia, UNE, USQ.

And also thinking about USP (University of south Pacific).

    Any thoughts and advice please?

    Thank you,

    Migara

Both UNE and USQ meet the requirements of both the ASCPA and ICA in Australia and are acceptable into NZ. I have done 8 years post grad work at UNE including Accounting in which they are very strong - you may also look at Charles Sturt.

One thing you may need to consider is what you intend to do with the degree, as an accounting degree on its own is not much use without professional memebrship which entails a fairly solid post degree program. Also a first degree is Psychology is not suitable for going into practice - you need 4 to 6 years for registration which means a masters, so you'd need to consider something that gives you entry into a masters. With Finance, you would again need to look at the regulations for practice/employment.
