    Hi:

I am asking this question for a friend. Can anyone suggest DL courses in Education? This person is looking to pursue an A.A. She states she wants to pursue a Teachers Assistant job as a starting point for a Teacher position. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Low cost would be a factor.

    Thanks,

    Abner :)

    Abner,

Has she checked with her local community college. Mrs. Fout, definitely the smarter between she and I, is almost finished with her A.A. Most of her classes have been in the classroom. She has had a few distance classes, including one of her current classes, EDU 200. She says it is her most difficult class so far, mostly due to the sheer volume of work involved.

Also look for courses in Childhood Development. I think you will find that the community colleges are hard to beat in regards to cost.

I think you are right Charles. I will copy and paste this info. and e-mail to her so she will at least have an idea of what courses to pursue. I am also going to suggest she speak to a CC school Counselor and a career Counselor as well so she could obtain info. as far as job requirements, working conditions, pay, etc.

    Thanks once again,

    Abner :)
