I am currently looking for Masters or doctoral DL or short residencies in Evaluation, Program Assessment, Applied Research Methods, etc., mainly with a emphasis in social sciences, health sciences, and/or educational research. Other than the obvious (Capella, Walden, Union) any ideas? Thank-you.
I'm guessing that you've got it a bit backwards. I would think that you should be looking for a Masters or Doctoral degree program in Social Sciences, Health Sciences or Education with an emphasis in Evaluation (or some equivalent term). Social Sciences Charles Sturt U Edith Cowan U Syracuse U Health Sciences Athabasca U Central Queensland U Deakin U Edith Cowan U Florida Gulf Coast U Indiana State U Nova Southeastern U Touro U International U of St. Augustine Virginia Polytech Education too many to list (lots of available info in previous threads) Good luck, Jack
I served on a committee for a Union learner doing his Ph.D. emphasizing in Evaluation. It is not clear whether or not such a degree program may still be undertaken. (Dr. Alexy Kuzmin graduated just this year, though!)
Thanks for the information. I think Jack may be correct in that I may need to look at programs in social science, health science, and education with an emphasis in Evaluation. I have looked at several on the great list he provided. To comment on Rich's post; there does appear to be some very good programs there with a distinct emphasis on Evaluation but I have not found any that offer courses through distance learning. The American Evaluation Association provides a listing of these and I have attached the link for general information, but again, these are not provided via distance learning. I will post more after I look more into the schools in Jack's post. Thank-you. http://www.eval.org/university_programs.htm
