I have left Email and phone messages for Chip, and his business partner Nathan Whiteside, and am on my way to tack a message on Chip's door. I can think of nothing else to do . . . other than volunteer as a moderator, until such time as DegreeInfo gets its house in order.

Even when Bruce returns, and it can't be a moment too soon, there will still be need for more moderators, especially those in a variety of time zones.

    Hi John,

Thanks for trying to get this present issue under control.

I have absolutely no credentials to speak of in the world of distance learning, but if additional moderators are required, then I volunteer.

Likewise. I've gotten a lot out of this board, and would be happy to give time back.

    And yes, thanks John!

I hope it's that Bruce is taking the weekend off or some vacation time and not that he's having some problems.

Good to see that you and some others are willing to do some moderatin'. I'd rule as to make Stalin blanch. :)

Thank the heavens you have stepped in to assist in dealing with such filth. I was floored to learn that this type of immature behavior was allowed to go on without any moderator intervention.

I certainly hope that this will be dealt with in the most professional manner... I would hope someone will report this individual to their ISP's customer service office for spamming and abusive tactics.

    Thanks John

Well, if I were co-emperor of this board, flamers and trolls like Libertarian Larry and subsequent members of his dynasty would be vaporized off this board instantaneously.

    Dr. John

    Que tal Doctor Bear:

    I postulate for Co-Moderators:

    (1) Uncle Janko, pure Bona Fides.

    (2) Gregg L. DesElms, pure Bona Fides.

En conjunto con usted, there is no doubt in my mind that the above team will serve the board and its members with diligent tenacity.

    Salud,

    Balazo

    Dr. Bear:

It's nice to see you and many other people offering to act as cocoderators. Thanks to this forum, I knew of the MA in International Policy and Diplomacy from Staffordshire University, as well as other programs I'm interested in. I enrolled in Staffordshire on friday

I've been impressed with the level of respect and helpfulness I've found here. There're many, many people helping others in this forum, including (in my case) Ted Heiks, Bill Dayson, Jack Tracey, tmarca, and ,any others.

My deep thanks to all, including you, Dr. Bear. I'm in possesion of what I believe to be the only 3 copies on your book on Distance learning in Cuba.

This is off topic but who cares? Congratulations on your decision, Joi, and best of luck to you in your new programme. You are also a most valued contributor to this board and I look forward to your posts.

    Dr. Bear:

Good morning and thanks ever so much for coming to our beloved and information-laden DI's rescue. May your tribe increase.

    Newbies:

Do concentrate on using this board (DI) to get the DL and higher education information you need. Protect yourself, your name, and your future. Think accredited, that is, (RA/NA/PA/mGAAP), always.

Ignore the trolls, shills, psychologically-troubled, decency-challenged loudmouths and idiots. By their posts ye shall know them.

I did what I usually do, which is going around tugging on people's sleeves. At least it had the effect, I think, of Chip appointing two new moderators. I think my ego can handle the fact that neither of them is me.

Who are the two new moderators?

John: What an intriguing bit of information. Thanks for sharing. In the early 1990s, I was hired by the Australian government to write fifteen Country Profiles -- monographs on the educational systems of 15 nations, as part of a project of theirs to help make decisions on dealing with foreign nationals, either in the country or wanting to be: should they accept Polish architecture degrees, Peruvian dental degrees, and so on. As I researched and wrote the monograph on Cuba, I was intrigued and impressed by a lot, perhaps especially the apparently very successful plan to improve literacy by requring all high school students to take one year off to teach reading and writing.

    to this day...............

Largely off topic but focused towards CUBA.

To this day the best primary care physicians in the world (IMO) are Cuban Trained Physicians(s):

    (a) the sheer mastery of Taking a History.
    (b) And the sheer mastery of physical examination.

    (c) .......WITHOUT the benefit of complex laboratory equipment and test to confirm, discard or order further testing;

No sirrrrr...............with nothing more than a stethescope (and No, not the ever so popular Littmann), maybe a cheap, five pound sphygomanometer and hands..........it's Mozart !

Cuba has sent many physicians to Dominica and elsewhere in the Caribbean. I'm no fan of their system, but I must admit that their physicians have an excellent reputation.
