Which one is the cheapest (cost wise) and the best MBA (course wise) in US? It has to be 100% distance learning.

A good option is the Colorado State University MBA, AACSB accreditation and RA.
Very cost effective. You may find a bit cheaper with no AACSB accreditation.

The cheapest would probably be Amberton University, I think you can do the whole program for about $6,000. The best is very subjective, but I'd say that Duke University would be the most prestigious, at about $80,000.

    Bruce,

    Do Duke offers online MBA?

Not 100% online, but they do offer a very non-traditional, short residency MBA. I believe the total residency is about 10 weeks throughout the program, but in addition to the high cost, you can imagine the competition for slots in the program.

    Thanks Bruce for the info.

It seems like that online MBA costs will eventually come down due to growing competition.

I was told that Heriot-Watt was compelled to slash their tution to compete with other comparable DL MBAs. Interesting??

Comparable DL MBA? You don't mean it. So there other DL MBAs that could compare with Heriot-Watt MBA? [IMG][/img]

I don't know whether there are other MBAs that could compare with Heriot-Watt MB?

From your postings, I understand there are none, right?

I wish! HW recently RAISED tuition. Some non-UK distributors might have cut their price a little to better match the UK price, but that's it. Overall, every year the price goes up.

Actually, I think Duke is up to 95K now.

Colorado is neither the cheapest nor the best.

That is not true. Heriot-Watt was not carefuly with their global pricing and students were arbing the tuition and texts (i.e. a US student could import from Thailand, pay shipping and still undercut the price in the US$). Heriot-Watt implemented a "one-price" policy to equalize it all, which resulted in the price decreasing in some markets.

Actually, based on flexibility, quality and cost you can easily make the argument that HW has no competition.

Of course these factors are not important to everyone and there are others to consider.

Cheapest, yes, Amberton. Now really, truly available completely at a distance. Admission and course entry fast turnaround. Staff a bit disorganized but homely and heart in right place.

Cheapest and best course wise, likely Morehead State University's ACBSP accredited 36 hour offering at around $180-$190 per semester hour inclusive of extra $30 per hour internet fee (they should reduce the fee by 30 bucks for internet DL use, not increase it).

Courses are all web based. Program unconditional entry requires GMAT. Approachable staff, quite well organized program. Administration a bit slow.

Cheapest and best outside the US may be University of Southern Queensland's offering. MBA total cost is around $5400 (USD) at current exchange rates. As I remember it, this includes course (unit) texts which are provided via the web, so no book buying. That's a sizable saving. USQ provide the friendliest people and machine interfaces I've experienced as a learner. Lightening fast, simple admission procedures and conditional acceptance/decline. Easy course (Oz-speak = "unit") enrollment procedures. Excellent administrative staff feedback.

This is an extremely good point worth repeating. With text books and support materials often costing in excess of $100 per course, schools that provide these things as a matter of course--like H-W and USQ--represent a dramatic savings to the consumer. To use an analogy, your "drinks" are included in the "cover charge."

I just looked at Colorado. Your right it's not cheep, nor quick, 2-4 yrs watching vidios of classes. Looks like they require about 40 credit hours at $448/hr = $18,800!
Ouch! Add about $4M and you can do Phonex in a year!

  17. Actually the USA price for HW MBA courses recently came down, from close to a thousand USF to $825 USF. I know because I recently started two HW MBA courses. Incredibly interesting but very challenging.

    Earon,

    "Incredibly interesting but very challenging."

If you don't mind, I would like to know what is interesting and challenging.

It might be interesting because of the flexibility of the course.

I will pipe in and see if Earon agrees.

    Interesting.
The courses are simply very well prepared. Top academics, challenging level, plenty of relevant examples, they update fairly regularly so the information is never antiquated... a good product (this definetly cannot be said of all programs).
    Challenging.
The exams require you to know/understand/apply such a quantity of information in such depth... to memorize/understand/synthesize to this level is a great challenge.

    Hi Lawrie,
Why do you say Morehead State is best coruse wise?
    Thanks
