hate to go from the sublime to the ridiculous, but... (edegree.co.za question)

    I have an actual question about distance learning.

    Does anyone have experience studying through edegree.co.za and if so, what do you think of it?

    I'm still looking for feedback from anyone with experience at edegree.co.za. I'm specifically interested in the LLB at the University of the Free State, but any relevant input would be appreciated.

    Avoid them!

    My wife was interested, paid the application fee, and never received anything from eDegree but lame excuses about how they were still waiting to hear from Free State. Two thumbs down -- way down.

    It's too bad, because that looked like the best option for her to do a common law degree by distance. She's Caribbean, and we intend to return sooner or later.

    I'm sorry to hear about this bad experience by the Foerster family. We have at least one member currently enrolled and perhaps he will post something of his experiences to date. As Steve indicated, this is a company that runs DL programs for various universities, primarily the University of the Free State in South Africa. I have no personal experience to which I can point but I can tell you that they've been running for at least a few years now and the degrees granted come from a small number of legitimate institutions. This is not to invalidate the Foerster experience. Their service may in fact be less than good at times.

    Certainly things can change with time. If the other member has had a good experience, it would be interesting to know the relative chronology.

    Yes, definitely! Aren't there any reliable LLB programs out there available by distance (that aren't known for being fiendishly difficult like UoL)?
