If you are another troll, ---- off.

If you aren't (and I hope you're not), welcome aboard, Steve. No, this is an occasional troll attack. People who run or buy degrees from degree mills, or who lie about accreditation or their degrees, really hate what we do here. A search of threads without the troll will quickly disabuse you of any notion that this troll stuff is typical. I hope you find the legitimate distance learning information you are seeking, and will help you if I have any expertise or knowledge in the fields or programmes that interest you.

    Hi Steve!

Welcome! This is a great place. Someone is out of control today. It has not been like this on any other day I've been here. I hope you learn as much here as I have.

No, this is not the usual (although it is becoming moreso). It is caused by:

    1. The occassional troll, usually associated with degree mills; and

    2. Some regulars here who can't not respond.

    3. A lack of moderation (not in quality, but in number of moderators).

Welcome Steve. You are quite right--it was never like this. This was a case where an obviously unbalanced person who decided to try to take a public discussion forum "hostage" by posting the most offensive material possible. Some of us tried to actually engage this person in a dialog; however, when he went off the deep end with vulgarities and racial slurs, we realized that it was a mistake. "Larry's" first few posts demonstrated some hostility, but at least had a little coherency. Soon, it became clear that this was either 1) a mentally unsound individual, 2) someone from an anti-Degreeinfo discussion forum or 3) both.
