Distance PhD in Computer Science in Canada

    In Quebec a student has the right to submit his dissertation and exams in either English or French but a working level of French is required since you need to follow the lectures in french.

    Yes, It is a combined program in Computer Science and cognitive Science, but the course work is pretty much computer science

    Its a degree in cognitive science, not computer science. You do not need any math or computer science background to enter the program.
    The program also does not offer any math courses (or computer courses outside of artifical intelligence related courses)

    I found exactly none. Here's a list of all distance Doctorates I could find, here in Canada:

    Doctor of Education in Distance Education - Athabasca University
    Doctor of Social Sciences - Royal Roads University
    Doctoral Program in War Studies - Royal Military College of Canada
    Doctorat en informatique cognitive (3560) TÉLUQ (Discussed above)
    Doctorate in Business Administration - Athabasca University

    That's it. No distance doctoral programs listed in Computer Science.

    Found 2 others - distance or blended:

    (1) Ph.D. in Nursing - McGill U. I found this remarkable because not many years ago, McGill would not recognize any distance degree - no matter where earned. So don't tell them. :smile: This was said to be the only distance degree on offer here.

    (2) Doctor of Education (blended delivery) U. Calgary.
