I am thinking about the differences in PhD/DBA programs at different schools. Does it matter what school the degree comes from in the business world?

Of course this does not take UoP vs. Harvard in to consideration. I am talking about Lynn University vs. NCU; two RA schools that are not top tier one being online and on being B&M. Would Argosy University or Nova be better then NCU or TUI?

Is it a greater difference in the academic world?

I'd say a much greater difference in the academic world, but if you're talking about any of the above, you'll have a tough time making it in the academic world anyway. Not to say it's impossible, as I know the department head of a small college's business school who has his MBA from Oral Roberts (non-AACSB) and his PhD from Walden (for profit, non-AACSB); and the president of my community college has both a Masters and PhD from Nova. So it can happen, but you'll likely be relegated to small colleges or CCs.

Of all that you mentioned, I'd say Nova should have the most impact, as it does have e legitimate B&M presence. I know this sounds snotty and silly, but when in doubt, I ask myself: do they have collegiate athletics? Do they have buildings made of brick? Do professors have offices on campus? If so, I'd go there without reservation. Nova has all of the above.

As for the business world, you'll likely be more judged by the quality of your accomplishments. The degree is frosting, and as such, it's not as crucial (at least after you've gotten that first job).

    Just my opinion.
