Hey, I just wanted to state that if you wanted to work in California as a public health educator in the state, county, or city governments, you must have earned a master of public health degree accredited by Council on Education for Public Health. In fact when you apply for a position as a health educator it states the following on the job announcement:

"California law requires a Master's degree with specialization in Public Health Education or Community Health Education in a program accredited by the Council on Education For Public Health"

One can view a sample of a HR job announcement say this here:
    http://easier.co.la.ca.us/jobs/PDFs/Y4848B.pdf

Now this law does not apply to the private sector or federal government positions in California, just state, county, and local govt's. To me a its a silly law, but then again this is California. So those of you that live in California and want to work for state or local govt's in this position, make sure the distance learning program you take has this accreditation.
