    Ok guys, lets find some good Telecommunications or Cellular - Wireless telecommunications programs. NO PROGRAMS IN "TELECOMMUNICATIONS MANAGEMENT" Just technical Degrees.

    Here are some good ones I found:

    University of Denver has these programs, not sure how they compare to pace though

    Now here is the real question, does anyone know of any Cellular Technology degrees? degrees that cover CDMA, GSM, TDMA, Analog, UMTS, EV-DO, EV-DV, etc.?

    The CWNA is good for 802 wireless, etc. I def. want to pursue this down the line.

    Cellular would be related to SS7 ANSI - 41 standard messaging. The way Cellular networks work are in a different ballpark than 802 standard. Cellular networks integrate with telecommunications networks and vice versa, Another huge difference.

    If ANYONE finds a Cellular program anywhere, that would be great. I am guessing it is going to just be a concentration as part of a telecommunications degree.

    Blue Mason.... ALL OF THOSE LINKS ARE TOO GOOD! I DO NOT KNOW WHERE TO GO NOW WHEN I FINISH MY 1st BACHELRS!!

    thanks guys, wow, I did not find any of these schools during my search.

    So far SunyIT looks the best, but DepaulCTI has AWSOME Cellular classes! I think I will take classes at both, I could care less if I get that degree at Depaul, As Long as I can take to Cellular Classes and get that knowledge!

    This has me very excited. These programs can help me get to where I want to be in life.

    well, SunyIT probably has the best Telecommunications program that suites me as it is not Engineering Intesive.

    DePaulCTI's program is not as interesting to me, but the Cellular Telecommunications class looks awsome and I am definetly going to take that just to take it soon one day. The rest of the program in my opinion does not beat out SunyIT. WOW would I love to go to the campus of SudyIT. They have 4 telecommunications labs! Oh well, i am in TN and could not take the commute.

    Now to Decide Between SunyIT and Pace. DePaulCIT's Cellular class is definetly in though.

    I like this program also, but it is only an associates degree. It looks real good, but would rather go after a bachelors.

    Does anyone know if these guys are nationally or regionally accredited?

    Eight online courses provide a core of knowledge across key liberal arts and humanities subjects. These courses form the foundation from which you will extend your knowledge into several technology areas as part of your telecommunications degree. Online courses include:

    NYIT 101 College Success Seminar
    The cornerstone of the general education program is a two-credit course designed to provide sutndets with the tools necessary for collegiate success. This course provides support to new students as they develop confidence in their academic and social endeavors (2 credits).
    Prerequisite: None.

    ECON 105 Principles of Economics I
    A study of basic economic concepts emphasizing analysis of the aggregate economy. The fundamental concepts of national income and its determination, economic fluctuations, monetary and fiscal policies, and economic growth are covered (3 credits).
    Prerequisite: None.

    WRIT 101 College Composition I
    Instruction in and application of the principles and skills involved in effective expository writing, with most readings from nonfiction prose. Introduces students to the writing process with special attention to constructing arguments, working with sources, and crafting effective sentences and paragraphs (3 credits).
    Prerequisite: None.

    WRIT 151 College Composition II
    Further development of the expository writing and reading skills taught in English. An introduction to literature and the development of library skills leading to a documented research paper (3 credits).
    Prerequisite: WRIT 101.

    SPCH 105 Basic Speech Communication
    Study of the fundamentals of verbal communication including public speaking, interpersonal communication, and small group interaction. Training in methods of obtaining and organizing materials and ideas for effective verbal communication (3 credits).
    Prerequisite: None.

    TMAT 135 Technical Mathematics
    The first course in the sequence of mathematics courses for students in the Bachelor of Technology program online. Review of algebra: exponents, factoring, fractions. Linear equations, ratio, proportions. Word problem application. Coordinate systems and graphs of functions: straight line, slope. Systems of linear equations and their applications. Complex numbers. Quadratic equations. Introduction to trigonometry. Applications to problems in engineering technology are emphasized throughout (4 credits).
    Prerequisite: Placement exam, MATH 100 or MATH 101, or equivalent.

    TMAT 155 Technical Mathematics II
    Part of the integrated course sequence in mathematics for students in the Bachelor of Technology program. Topics include trigonometric functions, identities and equations, the sine and cosine laws; graphs of the trigonometric functions; functions of a composite angle; DeMoivre's theorem; logarithms; binomial theorem; and Cramer's rule. Applications drawn from technology (4 credits).
    Prerequisite: TMAT 135 or equivalent.

    PHYS 165 Physics for Telecommunications
    A basic online course in the physics of communication systems. Topics include electricity and magnetism, optics, frequency band width relationships. This course will include an introduction to signal propagation in different media as well as amplification and signal correction as applied to electrical and optical systems (4 credits).
    Prerequisite: MATH 125 or equivalent.
    Corequisite: MATH 150.

    Choose a Behavioral Science Course (3 credits)
    Example courses include ANTH 101 Anthropology, PSYC 101 Introductory Psychology, and SOCI 101 Introduction to Sociology.

    Five required online courses provide a core of knowledge in key telecommunications technologies and form the foundation from which you'll explore related electrical technology areas. Courses that contribute towards earning a telecommunications degree online include:

    TELE 110 Telecommunications Fundamentals
    A broad examination of fundamental concepts in telecommunications. Topics include a discussion on signal and channel bandwidth, digitization of voice (with emphasis on PCM), data transmission, analog and digital modulation techniques (AM, FM, PSK, FSK, etc.), multiplexing (FDM, TDM, T1 multiplexing, SONET and SDH), and switching (circuit, packet, and cell). The role of the Public Switched Telephone Network is also examined. An introduction to data networking is presented (3 credits).
    Prerequisite: TMAT 135 or equivalent.

    TELE 210 Data Networking Fundamentals
    Topics discussed include the DTE to DCE physical connection (with emphasis on EIA-232), data link protocols (BISYNC, DDCMP, HDLC), the OSI reference model, LANs, MANs, LAN interconnection and the role of bridges and routers, X.25, TCP/IP, Frame Relay, SMDS, SNA, ISDN, SS7, BISDN, and enterprise networks. An introduction to traffic engineering is also provided (3 credits).
    Prerequisite: TELE 110, TMAT 155, QANT 301 or equivalent.

    TELE 220 Applied Telecommunications
    Services Digital Network (ISDN) and broadband ISDN architecture and protocols is presented. The Signaling System 7 (SS7) network structure and architecture is described. Packet switching, Frame Relay and the Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) are introduced and compared. Network Management, an introduction to the Internet and traffic engineering are also covered (3 credits).
    Prerequisite: TELE 210.

    TELE 330 High Speed Information Networks
    The application, architecture, and protocols of high speed information networks are examined along with their unique challenges and opportunities. Included in this examination are frame relay networks, BISDN/ATM, high speed LANs and MANs, and the emerging user applications in this environment (3 credits).
    Prerequisite: TELE 220.

    TELE 345 LAN and Internetworking
    During this online course in networking, students discuss the interconnection of dissimilar data networks to provide users with access to network resources from anywhere at anytime. The role of the Internet and intranets is examined along with the internetworking devices: routers, bridges, and gateways. Important internetworking protocols are discussed and their application is examined. Selected user applications made possible by this environment will be presented (3 credits).
    Prerequisite: TELE 220.

    Seven required courses support telecommunications network topics online. Your courses provide fundamental knowledge, or relevant applications, to prepare you for work in the telecommunications field. Subjects within the telecommunications networking course include:

    ETEC 110 Electrical Technology I
    Fundamental units, electrical components, wire calculations, work power, efficiency, Ohm's law series and parallel resistive circuits, Kirchhoff's laws. Introduction to electric and magnetic energy storage, capacitance, inductance, RC and RL time constants, meters, fundamentals of DC motors and generators. Online lectures are followed by laboratory experiments (4 credits).
    Prerequisite: TMAT 135.

    ETEC 120 Electrical Technology II
    Alternating-current concepts. Reactance circuits, series and parallel, power factor, complex algebra, and phasor notation. Resonance phenomena, coupled circuits and transformers. Lectures are followed by laboratory experiments (4 credits).
    Prerequisite: ETEC 110.
    Corequisite: TMAT 155.

    ETEC 131 Electronics Technology I
    This course covers semiconductor theory, diodes, Zener diodes, rectifier circuits, filters, voltage regulators, special purpose diodes, Bipolar Junction Transistor (BJT) and Junction Field Effect Transistor (FET) fundamentals. BJT and FET configurations, biasing, AC models and voltage amplifiers, and small signal analysis. BJT power amplifier classification and analysis are also discussed. Laboratory work is correlated with the lectures (4 credits).
    Prerequisite: ETEC 110.
    Corequisite: ETEC 120.

    ETEC 231 Electronics Technology II
    This course covers Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistor (MOSFET) fundamentals, configurations, biasing and small signal analysis. Frequency response of BJT and FET circuits, Bode plots, and Oscillators are discussed. Other topics covered include Differential Amplifiers, Operational Amplifiers (opamps) fundamentals and applications including linear and non-linear op-amp circuits. Regulated Power supplies and Thyristor devices are also considered. Laboratory work is correlated with the lectures (4 credits).
    Prerequisite: ETEC 131.

    CTEC 205 Computer Programming Technology
    This course covers structured programming in a language, such as, "C" or Pascal with emphasis on "hands-on" and problem solving. Problem solving techniques are introduced to solve electrical engineering technology problems (3 credits).
    Prerequisite: TMAT 135.

    CSCI 110 Introduction to Computer Science
    This online course is designed to provide students with an overview of the basic hardware and software organization of computer systems. Students get hands-on experience with the DOS and Windows operating systems environments. Computer programming skills are taught using the Visual Basic programming language (3 credits).
    Prerequisite: MATH 140 or TMAT 155.

    QANT 301 Statistical Sampling Theory
    This course provides an introduction to the use of descriptive and inferential statistics in business. Topics covered include sampling, binomial and normal distribution, confidence intervals, hypothesis testing, chi-square and regression. Business problems are solved in a computing assisted environment.
    Prerequisite: MIST 101 and MATH 125.

    Objectives
    This program can help graduates prepare to design, deploy, and manage data communication systems and infrastructures. Courses are designed to address challenges in understanding and applying various solutions to help user organizations achieve their business goals with effective use of data communication technologies of choice. The technical content focuses on theories and applications of various popular data communication technologies and platforms. The curriculum builds upon topics of networking and internetworking standards and protocols, routing, switching, capacity planning, traffic engineering, Web technologies, network service integration, and various configurations that enable desired functions in given systems. The coursework offers a foundation in communication theories through the study of subjects such as data and networking communications, technical mathematics, theories and analyses in areas of integrated network systems and services, database functions and administration, and lifelong learning subjects.

    Career Opportunities
    Graduates of this program may pursue career opportunities involving the design, deployment, implementation, and administration of networking and data communication systems and infrastructures in a variety of entry-level positions with various titles, such as system administrator, network administrator, system engineer, network engineer, system analyst, network analyst, system specialist and network specialist.

    School Equipment
    Students will have exposure to some hands-on applications with typical data communication systems equipment, such as client computers, servers, hubs, routers, switches, software for such systems, selected wiring components and testing tools. Software-based simulation tools may be used in place of more sophisticated hardware tools and equipment. Refer to Student Equipment in the Online Course Information section of this catalog for information relating to the student equipment requirements for the distance education courses that are taught online over the Internet.

    Class Size
    Classes generally range in size from 15 to 28 students. Depending on the course subject matter, certain classes may contain a greater or lesser number of students.

    compared to other IT and networking degrees out there, there are not many online associates and bachelors degrees in telecommunications technology.
