Hello, I plan to complete a Masters of Accounting program as soon as I'm done with my MBA to qualify me to sit for the CPA exam. I have searched this forum and only found Florida Atlantic University. I've looked at Florida Atlantic University and their Masters of Accounting but they will require me to take the GMAT since I don't hold an AACSB accredited Masters Degree. Completing a Regional Accredited Masters Degree is not sufficient for admission into their program without the GMAT. Does anyone know of any other Masters of Accounting programs that can be completed completely via distance learning? I'm already a Graduate Student and will have my MBA by the time I apply so I really don't want to deal with taking the GMAT for entrance into another Graduate program. Thanks for any assistance.
Hello to a fellow City U grad! At this threadlink you shall find a list of accounting degrees with weblinks http://forums.degreeinfo.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=19406 .
I've taken courses in the eMACC at Nova Southeastern. Overall, I'm very positive about the program. They have some 350 students in the program and its runs pretty smooth. Regards - Andy
University of Hawaii University of Connecticut New Jersey City University All of these require GMAT scores. Those which don't require GMAT are rare.
As some have said...University of Tulsa, Univerity of Hawaii (Manoa), and Florida Atlantic. These are all AACSB schools and require (exceptions probably apply) GMAT scores. William
Are you sure you need a masters in accounting? With an MBA, you may only need to take a few accounting classes in order to satisfy your state's requirements. That's the way it is in my state, Illinois. You may want to double check.
Thanks gkillion, My concern is that I have no accounting experience so I feel I need a deeper level of knowledge to compensate for my lack of experience. I figured a Masters of Accounting would give me a better accounting foundation then just trying to piece together the minimum requirements. I'll give it some thought and do some research.
On the linked thread I gave you hereinabove, decimon provided a link to a clickable US map with state by state professional licensure requirements for accountants.
