I need some advice. (overseas degree, stafford loan)

I have been accepted and now registered at Leicester in the MSc security and risk management. Our start date in now. I have completed the FAFSA months ago and showed I should be cleared for maximum benefit. I included Leicester to receive a copy.

That is where I am and I am now stuck. Leicester simply says that payment is now due. I have asked if they help prepare the student aid package and they said they only can forward an invoice of amount due. The financial aid manager says he has no other advice.
I am confused. This was all handled for me during my BA adventure.

Do I simply seek a degree loan at any bank? What is the next step in getting money for an overseas degree program

I would reconsider schools. My overseas schools handles this, and this may be a red flag for you....... A school that does not help, may be a sign of other things to come. (I know nothing about your school, just a ageneral statement).

I just went through this process with Leicester. The email address to the woman that handles their stafford loan processing is [email protected] and her name is Emma Griffin.

They can not directly receive a copy of your SAR report as they are not a US school. You need to request a hard copy be mailed to you and then you send it to them. The copy that you can pull off of the internet is not good enough, they need an original SAR. You also need to choose a lender and send a copy of a completed SAR report and school certification form to Leicester. I know that Sallie Mae is a lender that works with Leicester students, but Emma may be able to suggest other lenders as well.

Sorry, I should have read my post before sending it. I meant to say that you need to send the school the SAR, a completed Master Promissory Note, and a school certification form. The Master Promissory Note is very important!
