I drove by CCU today. I must say I was impressed with the building. It has the respectable presence of a small University. I think 10 to 15 years ago, correspondence schools gave people the impression something was not legitimate, or not as legit as B&M schools. It was nice to drive by and see the physical presence, to kind of counter that old way of thinking. Students now can have their degrees awarded in person if they go down to CCU.

Once I finish up my B.A. with COSC, I am 99% sure I will be going to CCU for my Masters. It was motivating to go and see CCU in person.

    Have a good weekend!

Thanks for the info. Sometimes I wonder what these "Universities" look like in person. I know some are small office spaces. Not that it really matters, but one does wonder.

Why not choose a regionally accredited school?

    Hello Abner,

I had my MBA degree awarded at CCU last month and just to share, they are a great group of faculty and really showed to enjoy the opportunity to share in the accomplishment and I felt really good having it awarded in person. They are very open and I thoroughly enjoyed the MBA experience through their program.

    Best of Luck.

Yeah, I know what you mean. This is definately not the case with CCU. My wife was with me also and she said she liked the feel of place.

    Have a great weekend friendorfoe!

Yes. Although I have been keeping a close eye on CCU for a few years know. I like all the positive comments I hear about it in this forum, plus their recent DETC accreditation. If you look at their website, they are doing many very innovative improvements/things.

For me a N/A MBA would just be icing on the cake. My B.A. would be R/A from COSC. I work in the public sector, and they accept RA or NA degrees equally, except for maybe Engineering or teaching jobs, but that is not the case with me.

    Have a good one Jimmy!

Thanks for the comments JNelson. I am glad it worked out well for you. I like how CCU is nestled between historic looking law offices, a school of Arts, etc. The outside of CCU is neat, with its Greek revival pillars, and potted Topiary trees leading up to the front door.

I did not realize it at the time, but many, many years ago I was taking court translation classes right by there. They have many well know Spanish bookstores and especially Spanish Law Bookstores. Small world. I ended up using a lot of this knowledge to conduct insurance investigations in the field later on. But I digress.

    Have a good weekend Sir!

I completed my MBA from CCU and I am very happy with CCU. BUT, if cost is the only issue, you may want to look at Amberton also. The difference is cost per credit is only $30. I feel it is always best to go RA if you have the choice.

I don't mean to start trouble; just my opinion.

    Hi Randell:

Like my mothers always says "It never hurts to ask". In other words, what does it cost to seek the best bang for your buck?

I briefly glanced at the Amberton Website you gave, what is pretty incredible is the offer a flat fee for undergrad and grad courses! I think it is $600.00 per class(3credit)? Not bad at all.

Anway, I gott go to work. Will check into this site later. Of course, I am putting the cart before the horse right now since I need to complete my B.A. I am going crazy right now waiting for transcripts from various sources in order to formally apply with COSC. I am hoping to only between 10-20 credits left, if that.

Thanks for the info. I am always willing to consider anything.

    Have a good day!

Hi Abner, just wondering if you could post a photo of the CCU facility?

    Hi Kirkland:

Let me see if I could borrow somebodies digital camera in order to do that. I may be a while, because I am extremely technologically challenged, he he!

I will have to get a friend to show me how to post the picture into this forum. I won't promise, but I will try.

    Have a good one!

    Hi Abner,

I just posted information earlier today on the Edinburgh MBA. You do NOT need a Bachelor's degree to attend MBA program. You can check out the particular's here:

I haven't been by there in awhile. Is CCU still in the building on Main Street in Santa Ana? I used to live not too far from there and saw it many times.

One other thing - Amerberton is rank #2 school in the country for liberal arts degrees. At least they have a strong name.

It is very gratifying to see a bunch of people happy with CCU and using/describing their degrees honestly. At long last CCU is being well-served by its friends. Congrats to all of you who have earned degrees there.

    Thanks Randell:

I e-mailed them a request for a catalog. From what I have seen it looks like a good program, very innovative. I am curious to go through their catalog at length in order to see how involved the on-line classes are. I don't mind on-line classes as long as they are not to hard core computer oriented. What I mean by that is chat rooms, black boards, stuff like that. My wife took a on-line course at a B&M college. The class was more trouble than if she would have just taken the class in person.

Most of the distance courses I have taken have been correspondence with the ability to submit assignment via e-mail.

I will just have to wait until I receive the catalog then ask more specific questio of Amberton if necessary.

Thanks once again for the info.!!

You are correct Uncle, at the rate CCU is going, I would not doubt them receiving RA in a few years.

    Take care,
