    Greetings Dr. Bear,

Nice to see you in here sir. I was just wondering, I have your 15th edition of Bear's Distance Learning, and wondered if there's been talk between you and your daughter of a 16th edition in the future at all.

These diploma mills just keep changing names and growing...must keep up.

Thanks for your efforts with this book...it has been absolutely indispensable. It is helping me prepare for graduate school...and it helped me discover Excelsior College to complete my undergraduate degree.

Just thought you'd like to know what an impact your work has had on me...and others I'm sure.

Many of us have benefitted from Dr. Bear's work over the years. I, for one, learned about Degreeinfo from the Bears' Guide site. Jonh's daughter, Mariah, has taken over the authorship of Bears' Guide (which will revert back to being Bear's Guide for the 16th edition). We are axiously awaiting publication of the new guide.

    Dear Fellow Universal Life minister*

    Thanks for the kind words.

The 16th edition of Bear's Guide is in the final editing stages, temporarily on hold while most of the key people go off to Burning Man.

This late in the year, the publisher may decide to wait a month or two so it can have a 2006 copyright. But I am blissfully uninvolved, other than writing a brief 'farewell' section. Daughter Mariah, and Tom Nixon, have done it all, and good for them.

    * I've only done one wedding, however, unlike your many. But five Nobel laureates were present.

    Dr. Bear,

Looking forward to the book when it comes out. Glad to see you decided to rest from the work - not that your involvement would not have ben appreciated.

As to your "P.S.", my ministry is more than just weddings. But I've done those too. However, I can't claim Nobles were ever at one. The most notable person I can think of personally, was a former high school guidance counselor (worked in a California high school that I attended, lives in Washington state, and came to Oregon to get married. Beat that with a stick...lol. :)

Nobles or Nobels? Shriners or Scientists? I'm so confused.

How many Nobel laureates does it take to make a minyan?

(Sounds like a bad lightbulb joke)

Eleven. Ten to sit Shiva, and one to take the picture for the Memorial Book.
