I have been browsing the TUI (Touro) website and gathering information in order to make a decision on which MBA program I might choose in the fall of 2006. I noticed this:

"TUI Federal Tuition Assistance Program (FTAP) for federal, state, and local government employees."

The chart seems to indicate this is for California residents only. Does anyone know if this is available to non-California Federal employees?

    Thanks for any information.

Well, let's see here: www.tourou.edu . Looks like it is a California residents only proposition. Sorry.

I know, Mr. Heiks, the heading of the chart seemed to indicate California residents only but I received this reply to an email inquiry, a little later in the evening, prompt answer, I might add:

    Dear Mr. Dotson,

Yes, Federal employees who are residents of states other than California take advantage of the TUI Federal Tuition Assistance Program (FTAP) for federal, state, and local government employees.

The tuition assistance program offered by Touro University International is applicable to the bachelor and master degree programs.

With FTAP, tuition for undergraduate students in the BSBA, BSHS, BSCS and BSITM degree programs has been reduced 25%, from $250.00 to $187.50 per semester credit.

For master’s level students, tuition has been reduced from $300.00 to $187.50 per semester credit, a 37.5% reduction. Students enrolled in the MBA, MSHS, MAED and MSITM degree programs benefit from FTAP by paying a total of $8,250.00 for a complete master’s degree program (44 credits, 11 classes), rather than paying full tuition at $13,200.00.

For further information you may consult the following site: Federal Tuition Assistance Program (FTAP) or you may contact me at your convenience.

    With Warmest Regards,

With this and the savings on books at Touro U, this puts them very high on my list in 2006 for an MBA program.

I contacted Touro and was advised that the the TUI Federal Tuition Assistance Program (FTAP) discount is indeed available to all Federal employees, not just CA residents!! I was also told that the TUI website would be updated to clearly and correctly show the same.

    Another update.

I just received another interesting email from an advisor at Touro U:

"As of this FALL 05 session, pre-requisite courses are no longer required for the MBA program; however since you will not apply until the FALL 06 session this may change."

For the time being, one can begin the MBA immediately without an undergraduate business degree (or the pre-reqs).
