by a nationally-accredited school such as ACCIS or CCU to do an MBA program (even if your dream school is really an RA one to give you more options PhD-wise), would you grab the chance to study for free anyway? Purely hypothetical, just curious...

I will take it as long as it’s free. No knowledge is useless.

Only if I would not otherwise earn an MBA would I consider NA degree. And it might be cost free but your time is not free so it's still worth the effort to see if it what you want.

maybe something is available that's free...

Of course, there is one "free" degree program I know of, the Swedish version of the "Intercontinental Masters in Adult Education & Global Change"; the Linkoping University version doesn't charge tuition: http://www.ibv.liu.se/int_master/main_page.htm

I imagine the competition to get in must be pretty fierce, though.

    Like I've always said:

"If it's for free, it's for me!"

It's free and I'll learn something, so.. Yeah! (unless the school has had a very checkered past that "Diploma Mill" rings all over the place despite accreditation... I don't know enough about ACCIS or CCU...)

No, I wouldn't. In fact, because of the prestige factor I chose George Washington University's program in educational technology over that of Fort Hays State University, even though the former is $12,000 and the latter is roughly half that.

I expect Fort Hays is a perfectly fine institution, but I expect that having gone to a top 25 school will be worth the extra six grand over the course of my lifetime.

I probably wouldn't enroll, but my reason wouldn't be the accreditation. I'm just not sure that I want to expend the time and effort required to earn a graduate degree that I don't need in a subject that's kind of remote from my present interests.

Much as Bill said, I wouldn't enroll in an MBA program of any sort as I neither need or want that degree. Have any other offers up your sleeve?

How about if the degree were in an area that's of utmost interest to you?
