Question: Which school will accept the most transfer credits?

    I have a friend that works with me that would like to get an associates degree in CJ....he has 17 years in law enforcement experience and about 30 college credit hours from University of Alabama or some such.

    Anyhow, given his experience and credits, which would be the best accredited (RA or NA) school to attend to recieve the max number of transfer credits. He primarily wants a degree for personal pride rather than professional reasons....but it has to be accredited.

    The Big Three are generally pretty generous re taking transfer credits and, of these, Charter Oak www.cosc.edu and Thomas Edison www.tesc.edu offer associate's degrees in criminal justice.

    Charter Oak (and I believe Excelsior and TESC as well) will take 100% of credits in transfer, and you can't do much better than that! In fact, I only took three courses through Charter Oak itself.

    The Big Three are sure bets. I have read that Bellevue University is also very generous with transfer credit. I believe they will accept NA degrees in transfer to their programs.

    What other RA graduate schools will accept NA Bachelor degrees as meeting the undergraduate requirement?

    I know this has been gone over more than once, but I'm having problems searching. Just point the slow guy to the old thread, someone? :)

    UMass Lowell accepted 90 hours transfer credit toward my BS in Information Systems. Many of the credits were 30+ years old and my advisor was quite flexible about applying past coursework to the general ed requirements.
