I have found a few courses around but not enough, one at Bryer.

Anybody know of any courses in the history , religion line that does not require a proctored final. its difficult to organise these things in Europe.

    Cheers

I don't know of any in those fields for undergrad courses. But I have 18 hours at Abilene Christian University and am currently taking courses with The University of West Alabama for Masters level courses and none of them have proctored exams.

In addition, I took two modules atSheffield Hallam University in the UK and it was only papers, no tests at all. Also in History.

So maybe it depends on what level you are needing.

I do remember one of the Idaho universities (I don't remember which one) had a philosophy class without exams. I think it was in Ethics.

That probably wasn't much help, but that is about all I know on this.

Most courses at St Petersburg College in Florida do not require proctored exams. They are semester based.

I am not sure when the next round starts, but I quite a few online courses from here and none of them required a proctored exam. They all had some sort of project, exam, paper, or combination of the three though.

Many of the Community Colleges don't require proctors.

Try Clovis CC, they can't be beat in price either.

    Greetings,

Please pardon me whilst I (slightly) hijack this thread.

My de facto proctor had the audacity to retire. (How selfish some people can be!) I have, therefore, gone from treating those desiring proctorless courses with disdain, to becoming one of their ilk. <g> Unlike the original poster, I have no interest in frivolous and/or "soft" courses; I'm interested in courses relating to math, the sciences (physics, computer, chemistry, etc.), and engineering.

Indeed, it might be most useful if everyone simply listed all of sources of proctorless courses they know about here, so that future degreeinfo visitors might be able to pick and choose as their needs dictate.

My contribution to the kitty is Charter Oak State College's (www.cosc.edu) "Contract Learning" (www.cosc.edu/Advising/ContractLearning.cfm) service. Note that Contract Learning is not necessarily proctorless, however it is also not necessarily proctored either. Heck, at least you have a chance. <g>

    Cordially,
    Richard Kanarek

Some of the DL courses offered by Coastal Carolina University have no exam at all.

They will generally require projects or writings...
