Hi, I'm thinking of transfering from the Walden MBA program into the Amberton program. I've not had any problems with walden other than finding the funds to pay their high price tuition. I haven't been able to find much information on Amberton University. I have Bears distance learning guide 15th Ed. and there is nothing in the book about Amberton. My question is has anyone been enrolled in the Amberton program? How is their system? How is their level of difficulty? By looking at their website they seem very no nonsense and I just wonder how their corse workload is and if its managable to do while I'm working full time and per diem. Any Amberton info would be greatly appreciated or any other low cost RA schools.

    Thanks
    Sara

I seriously looked at them earlier in the year before deciding to do the e-Cornell postgrad diploma in HR. One reason was that it would only take 6 months instead of 1 1/2 or so the Amberton degree would. I have an MS Ed from Cal State Hayward, and want to get into HR Training. I will take the PHR test this fall, after I finish the e-Cornell program. (By the way, I live in Korea).

Amberton sent me material (to Korea) very quickly and answered questions just as quickly. I can't say as to the regular programs, but the fact they are punctual and mail to another country (many programs will not-unless you're military) speaks well for them.

In the end, the MS degree I was interested in (Master Of Science in
Human Resource Training and Development) was only offered in face to face classes and not online.

It seems to be well managed and professional, not to mention the reasonable price of $200/hour.

    I Love It!

I'm nearing the end of my MBA at Amberton, and I couldn't be happier. As the other poster mentioned, customer service is top notch.

The University has both a Distance learning and Brick and Morter option, with the same Professors teaching both, so there is no let down on instruction or results.

    RA accredited.

Very affordable at $200 per credit/ $600 per course.

They also offer a flexible payment options: pay over the 10 week semester.

As for the work load, it is manageable, but there is no room for procrastination. I work full time, have a wife and 2 little girls, and I am able to manage. I take two classes per semester.

Work loads and requirements vary from Professor to Professor. Most have required APA format for submissions.

For more specific class assignments, go to www.degreeforum.com and look up their forum section, then the graduate section as I have posted a lot more specific information about each of the classes.

Overall, I couldn't be happier. I have learned so much information that I am able to use in my business, and unlike my adventure at TESC, Amberton has been a pleasure to deal with, I couldn't recommend it any higher. Good Luck.

    Sarah,

I answered your question in greater detail on the Upper Iowa post. Like Ultimale, I loved my time at Amberton. He's right about the customer service -- it is top notch.

If they offered an MPA, I'd probably be staying there.
