I saw these on the web concerning John Amaechi, a British born basketball player who recently signed with the Utah Jazz. I thought some of you may be interested. I copied this..... Amaechi made a big impression on Jazz owner Larry Miller midway through the 1999-00 season, when he scored 24 points as the Magic beat Utah at the Delta Center. ``He had a dominant game against us when Orlando came two years ago,'' Miller said. ``He doesn't always have a 24-point night, but he always plays hard. You always know what you'll get from him.'' The Jazz also will get Amaechi's easygoing British accent and a player who, through distance learning programs, is completing work toward a doctoral degree in child clinical psychology
Does it say where he is earning his doctorate? At any rate, it is good to see some positive news from the world of B-ball. I enjoyed the other DL story about Shaq earning his B.A. from LSU. He said something to the effect of "how could he tell his kids or others kids that education was important and that they should finish college when he hadn't finished". North
It is probably from Vanderbilt because he earned his B.S in Psychology in 1995 from Penn State. You may take a look at this link http://www.britball.com/profiles/john_amaechi.htm Ike
