I spoke to someone at CCU today and I was told the PhD in Psy, Business, and Education will be offered the end of 2006. Has anyone else heard about this?

I am usually not the first one to know anything around here. ;)

    Randell,

Don't say that. You are the first I turn to for news. Golly gee. By the way, how much longer do you have at NCU?

They should be able to apply to DETC to offer the programs two years after inititial accreditation. Once an application is made I would think the programs would have to be reviewd by DETC for approval.

I don't think you are serious

Anyway I have a long time left at NCU. I am taking three classes per year. I plan to complete my fourth class by the end of this year and that leaves me 5 classes plus -

    RSH8904-B - Design Analysis (2 units) 2
RSH8905-B - Collection and Analysis of Data (2 units) 2

Well of course I was. :). I was joking. You will make it. Hang in there. I just found out that I may only be able to take 3 hours this semester at UH because of expenses. I promised my wife that my school funds will be out of second job money only. I hope I get to take two courses.

    Who's the someone?

Funny thing is, I recently spoke to someone (likely a different someone) at CCU who said, correctly and in some detail, that any new offering of doctoral programmes will have to wait until DETC institutes a pilot programme, should CCU be included in it, or until DETC approves docs, should CCU not be in the pilot. My someone also reiterated that the existing unaccredited docs (on teachout) remain unaccredited and that to represent them otherwise is unethical. My someone also said that CCU wished to do nothing of any kind which might be taken amiss by DETC.

Your someone seems to be pushing the envelope of proper information.

Randell1234, I don't for a moment question *your* integrity or accuracy in reporting what you were told. However, I fear that CCU in the instance of your informant
ONCE AGAIN may have been served badly by one of its ostensible friends.
And that is an old odd pattern. CCU deserves better.

Best wishes to you in your doc program at NCU.
