The University of Dundee is offering a MSc in orthopaedic and Rehabilitation Technology by distance learning.

This may be off the beaten path for most on this board but OH MY! for me this looks like the promised land. 4 modlules for a diploma and 4 more with a project for the MSc.

Maybe ... but double check the entry requirements. This is basically standard for UK/Aus Masters degrees, considering that we attain our full professional practising status at undergraduate degree level unlike US.

    Peter,
my comments were aimed at the SUBJECT of the degree. 4 courses for the diploma and 4 more with a project for the Master's is exciting to me as it would be in my profession.

Now if I can have the oral defense in So Cal I will be home free.

Entry requirements include a degree in orthotics so I am a happy camper! If I don't have to travel to UK until the defense I will be REAL happy.

1."Candidates normally require a degree in science, engineering or a medically related professional qualification in, for example, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, orthotics, prosthetics, nursing or medicine."

2."The courses are assessed by a combination of written examination and continuous assessment. In addition, the research project, undertaken by those studying towards an MSc, is assessed by dissertation and oral examination."

both quotes are from the web site.
This looks to me to be for other than medical doctors (I presume the other master's degree they list is the one that moves a Dr to becoming surgeon and back to "MR" title.)

(last year we had a visiting professor from England who has specialized in pediatric orthopedic surgery, our residents sure had a problem calling him Mister instead of Doctor [IMG] )
