I am curious if anyone out there has any experience with the BD program at the U of L that they can share.

This past year I started the program, taking New and Old Testament as well as Early Church History. I have found these courses to be very challanging and rewarding.

The program is self study and a lot less interactive then I would like though. There is a student to student network in place and I am told that it will be moving toward a message board based system. This will help in exchanging information and help in feeling more connected. Another issue; communication with the school for any reason is difficult. You may wait a considerable amount of time for return correspondence. My exams were taken in mid-May and I still do not have the reults yet. If anyone has experience with this, I'd like to know how long does it usually takes to get exam results (will it take the entire summer?)

So far, so good. I am enjoying the course work. I would like to hear about exerience that anyone else has had with the program if any.

For what it's worth (and that might not be much) I did the first year of the UoL LLB as an external student and took my exams in mid May. I received my results in early September (I'm in Canada).

I know that in the UK students received their results in late July.

Hopefully the BD programme will provide you with quicker turn around time.

    Best of luck.

    thanks for the reply.

Wow, I had no idea it could take that long. My exams were mid- May as well. Three and a half months is a log time to wait. I believe reregistration is early September. Did the delayed exam results interfere with that?

I elected not to continue with the programme (although I did pass all the subjects) but from everything I understand the late results do not interfere with registration.

Did you get a registration form yet? Even though I didn't take any exams this year I will continue to get the form until my initial registration expires (6 more years I think), and I got the one for the coming year a couple weeks ago.

Perhaps the BD works somewhat differently.

Edit: I realize that I wasn't clear, I was a University of London student for the 2003-2004 academic year and sat the exams in mid May 2004.

When I was a student at U. London's Birkbeck College, we wrote exams in Sept and Oct, and we received results in late December or early January.

So three months seems to be not unusual.
