Earlier today I recieved an e-mail spam message advertising this gem: http://www.customdeal.net/degree/graduate.htm The great thing is what you find if you trim off the "degree" stuff and look at their main page: http://www.customdeal.net Domain Name: customdeal.net Registrant: Jim Jackson 1493 W. Indeed, Bill! I looks as though earning a degree via this "university" is much like placing money in a slot machine at the local casino. As with all gambling, its only a matter of time until one loses! Russell
Bill, I'm curious as to how you got the registration info. I've just tried the Web site name at betterwhois.com, and the IP number at arin.net/whois, and came up with basically nothing. Thanks for any advice.
The betterwhois lookup reveals that the domain registrar for customdeal.net is naame.com The whois utility at naame.com will provide the information. http://www.naame.com/checkwhoisinfo516.asp ------------------ Bill Gossett
I notice that both the customdeal.net degrees-for-sale page and its parent online-gambling site seem to have been removed this morning.
The site is still down, but the spam continues. I received one yesterday with the subject: Don't be stupid!!! (Take you own advice whydoncha?)
