South Africa College - Tution Payments

    Hello,

I am curious as to what methods students in the United States are using to send tuition payments to schools such as the University of South Africa and SA Theological Seminary in South Africa.

I don’t know. Never try it to South Africa.

But maybe can be a solution to your problem. However, maybe you try this: if you are not from California. I mean International money transfer is currently not available for California residents.

Now, Want to send money worldwide?

    Try, MoneyGram: https://www.emoneygram.com/eMoneyGram/index.do

You can do it online in their website or go to the nearest office and get the same service like one from “Western Union”.

Both accept payment by credit card. SATS will accept a direct transfer of funds; UNISA accepts checks from an RSA bank.

    Credit card
    Wire transfer
    Bank check
    All will work.

SATS website has an online payment option, that is what I was directed to use...

The University of Pretoria enables me to submit my payments online using my credit card.

    Tuition to UNISA

A faxed authorization for payment via your mastercard works well with almost no pain. No need to do any of the conversions. Your credit card company automatically does it (To estimate the cost of Rands to dollars you can use XE.com, but of fluctuations UNISA always credits some money back to my account. )

    Greetings.

If I remember a recent Consumer Reports article correctly, some credit card purveyors will add a one or two percent surcharge onto the one percent surcharge Visa/MC adds to purchases in foreign currencies. For this and many other reasons, one might profit by reviewing one's credit card agreement.
