    Invitation to Participate in Research

    Dear potential participant,

As a nontraditional college student, you are invited to participate in a research study conducted by Marion Burke under the supervision of Faculty Mentor Nancy Longo, PhD, at Capella University. This study explores the relationship between perceived parenting behaviors, perceived social support, and self-efficacy beliefs in nontraditional college students, and is conducted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree Doctor of Philosophy. The Institutional Review Board (IRB) at Capella University has granted authorization for this research study.

Participation in this study is voluntary and anonymous, and involves the completion of questionnaires that can be accessed via a secure Internet site. No requests for names or other identifying information will be made, and individual responses cannot be traced back to any one participant. Once data are collected, your results will form part of a larger database from which only group data will be reported.

If you would like to participate in this research study, please follow this link

This would be Ms. Burke's data collection for her dissertation. The more people that she has completing her questionnaire, the stronger her study will be.

Those of us who have completed doctoral dissertations know how challenging it can be to get participants (and the scared feeling that you might not get enough for a decent study). Even though I do not know Ms. Burke, I certainly remember the process myself.

If you or someone you know is a member of her target population, please help her out by completing the survey.
