I was wondering if anyone on the board had been a PhD student at TUI then switched over to NCU....or vice versa. If so, what were your reasons for doing so?

Maybe there are those who have swithed between Walden or Capella to NCU or TUI. I'd like to hear from you, too.

Could be that some have switched between the PhD and EdD programs. This might be a good story to hear, too.

I’d be interested in hearing for anyone who has done this as well.

I left Touro’s PhD program for a very exciting (to me, at least) PhD program in Biodefense at George Mason University; a brick and mortar school. Now, I find myself traveling for work so much that attending classes is nearly impossible. I am tempted to leave GMU with a Graduate Certificate in Biodefense and return to a DL doctoral program. My trouble is all of the “wasted” doctorate-level credits I will have accrued. I don’t think anyone will accept so many upper-level credit hours should I decide to transfer once again.

I was also interested in hearing from people on this topic. I do recall a comparison made by Randall back in May 2005. He compared NCU and TUI - NCU at the doctorate level vs. TUI at the master’s level. The link for the thread is below:

It may not be exactly what you asked for but if nothing else, I bumped (or buoyed ;)) the thread from page 2 back to page 1. :D

I've posted about this numerous times.

I switched from Capella to NCU because of the residencies. I couldn't afford the lodging and get the time away from work.

I also considered TUI, but ended up at NCU. All in all, I could have just as easily flipped a coin to decide. I liked both schools and their programs.

Thanks, Binkwile! All the comments on the board seem to point toward either being a coin flip. However, currently, the DBA offering at NCU might make someone choose that over TUI. Maybe TUI will bring out a DBA now.

Although, I guess one of the bigger factors of late for people NOT choosing NCU is the lack of federally backed student loans there. Thus, TUI might be more attractive.
