I went to a trade school that was acccredited with the ACCSCT. The school that I attended was Universal Technical Institute for auto, diesel, and ind technology. I would like to get a BS degree in Business Admin.

    1. Does anyone know if I can transfer these credits to a RA school? That way I will not have to start from zero.

    2. If I cannot use these credits and have to start from Zero what recommendations for a school? I'm thinking Excelsior, COSC, or city university

Price is a consideration as well as flexability. For background I was a sales rep for five years, I am a factory trained Porsche Tech. I am interested in getting a degree to find a career that would allow me the opportunity to be home based.

    Yes.

    Ask.

    Helped.

Seriously, you'll need to provide a bit more information. What kind of degree do you seek? How do you wish to study?

I am interested in Business Management. I want the shortest route to a BS. I also want the most inexpensive route. I realize that these may not be the same. If there was anyone else that started with no pervious credits what steps did they take to get to their BS?

Bellevue and Capella universities will consider your credit transfer.

Since your interest in business and you want a home-based business eventually I would recommend you complete the general education courses as cheaply as possible. In fact, earning a AA first might be the best option giving you an intermediate goal to achieve on your was to a BA/BS in business. What type of business do you hope to run? What field in business is of most interest to you?

With the objective of self-employment you might look into Nationally Accredited schools as they tend to be less expensive than Regionally Accredited schools. I am currently enrolled in one of each accreditation type; overall the quality of education is about the same with the NA school coming out slightly ahead in my opinion. Cost of the programme is no indicator of academic rigor or educational quality - some expensive schools can be terrible while some lesser expensive schools can be stellar. In the preceeding comment I am not specifically referring to the schools I am attending, but offering it as a general consideration as you explore options.

Check the archives for schools offering business degrees.

    ASE certs?

Do you hold any ASE certifications? If you do each one is worth ACE recommended credit-up to a total of about 50 credits(auto mech/auto body/refinish/truck&bus/mech.You would still have to get your general and liberal arts credits!

I do have some ase certs. How would I turn those into college credit? I am willing, and understand that additional Testing and study are required but I wanted to make the most of the schooling that I had already taken. If I could somehow turn the ASE and ACCSCT credit into RA cedit.

Go to- [www.asecert.org] then click- college credit for ASE cert. All of the Big3 will accept ASE credit. The key is to ask the schools you are interested in if they will!
