    Manda-

In my review of prospective schools, I came to the conclusion Nova's DBA wasn't available DL. I may be wrong, but their website has a link specifically to the DL programs and the DBA isn't on there.

If anyone knows the Nova DBA to be available DL, let us know.

Yes it is, but you are required to take some short residences in any of their meeting locations, I remember one in Canada in Alberta. But the program was too pricy, I don't remember the exact price but it was as expensive as Walden and bit less than Capella.

I completed the Nova DBA in the late 90's. I did a total of 75 days in residence - some in one week sessions in Florida and others in a cluster site (Chicago was closest for me).

Overall, I was impressed by the program. Yes, it is pricey. But I felt I got my money's worth. The dissertation track, in particular, was well developed. It took a lot of work - but was doable.

    Thanks - Andy

Yes, a good school, good program, but proctored exams, you must travel to the closest examination center. Residences are not mandatory but you may go to an optional one week per course taken.

    Hi, RFValve!

Just out of curiosity, what's the current price for a DBA from Southern Queensland, either in AUD or USD?

Thank you for your help in advance.

    Sincerely,

About 23,000 AUD, but what I like is that you pay by unit taken and not by semester of residence like Walden or Capella. It takes about 4 years part time if you start with an MBA or 6 years and half without it, Although the website says 3 years part time. When I asked if the DBA could be used for teaching they answered that it could but the most appropriate credential is the PhD, which can only be completed on campus.

Of course 23K Aud is about 12K USD and paying by unit is a big plus... it provides a greater amount of flexibility.

As far as DBA, it depends on the school. If you are looking at a "teaching" school you will be fine, if you are looking at a "research" school you may run into difficulties... although you may have more luck in the US since the DBA program follows the methodology of a US Phd.

Are there exam centers in the US? Any ideas on how many or where they are? How frequent are the exams?

Yes, there are centers. In Los Angeles, New York and W D.C. For the complete list you should contact USQ, the exams are once a semester.
